On Wednesday, July 18, 2018, The MS Rotterdam sails out of Boston Harbor to begin the Voyage of the Vikings. So, a couple of days prior, we flew to Boston changing planes in Newark along the way. It has been a few years since we were last in the Newark Airport and we were surprised to see the modern renovations that have been completed. There is more under way and we will look forward to seeing those improvements also! But for now, let me show you the “new look.”
Exiting gate C96, you see high-top desk tables and stools instead of waiting-room seating. Each table has a charging station and usb ports for 4 to 6 people.Kiosks have a new look, too.The “People Mover ” walkways are gone–replaced with more smart-stations.The shops are fresh and modern.CIBO Express seems to be the dominant quick-stop shop.Global Bazaar is an amazing place. Everyting you might want is right here. From a fresh salad bar to a currency exchange, it’s all centrally located.Global Bazaar has books and magazines.Global Bazaar has snacks and t-shirts.Global Bazaar has a bar, a buffet, and fresh fruit.Hot food to go.Or a healthy salad bar option.Take-out food.Easy and quick checkoutFresh pizza while you wait. But some things never change. Hudson Books is still there and as well stocked as ever. The moving sidewalks are gone having been replace with bars, resaurants and lots of smart-station seating. It is so easy to obtain information, food, drink, games with just the click of a button. And a credit card, of course!Surprisingly, the food was quite good!

Have a most wonderful, glorious time and enjoy! Wish we could be on this trip with you as it is on our bucket list but alas it was not meant to be – next time.
Hi, we were supposed to be with you on this cruise but had to cancel at the last minute for a family medical situation. So, I’m going on it virtually via your blog 😄. Thanks for writing about your upcoming VOV adventures.
